I just finished asking my girls to be my bridesmaids and it was so much fun! As I started wedding planning, I saw so many cute “Bridesmaid Proposal” boxes on Pinterest, Instagram, and Etsy. I thought it was such a cute idea, but was floored when I discovered that each box typically costs at least $40. I’ve quickly learned that weddings are expensive enough, so I looked for a more budget-friendly alternative. I decided to make each box myself and I’m so glad I did. By doing it myself, each box cost me less than $10. I was able to make my own “Bridesmaid Proposal” box for my Maid of Honor and each of my four bridesmaids for about the same cost as one of the pre-maid options on Etsy. I thought I would share what I did in case any of you are interested in doing the same!

First I bought plain white boxes from Michaels for $4.99 each. I have a Silhouette Cameo crafting machine that cuts out vinyl, so I added the names on top myself.

I found the pink cups at Walmart for $.50 each and added the vinyl monogram myself as well. If you don’t have your own way of cutting out Vinyl, you can usually order personalized name or monogram cutouts from Etsy for much cheaper by themselves. You’ll just have to apply them to your product yourself.

The hair ties came from Love Mia + Co. and they were $3.75 each. They’re extremely customizable so you can have the hair tie and card say whatever you like. You can also pick from a large variety of colors, too! If you decide to order anything, use the code “NEWSITE20” for 20% off your whole order!

Last, I wanted a card that actually asked them to be my Maid of Honor or Bridesmaid. I just designed a REALLY simple one myself and printed it out. If you don’t consider yourself much of a graphic designer, there are lots of shops on Etsy that just sell the templates. This option is a lot cheaper than buying the actual card and having them ship it to you.

I was so happy with how the boxes turned out and all my friends loved them too!
